Bud’s Saloon and Steakhouse is giving back this Thanksgiving.
Bud’s Party With a Purpose will be held the day before Thanksgiving, on Nov. 26, and will feature a complete turkey dinner, music, raffles and other entertainment. All the proceeds will go to benefit the Edgewood Community Food Bank at Mountain View Lutheran Church.
“We’re definitely expecting a full house,” said Melissa Wheatley, a spokesperson for Bud’s.
The event is part of a larger effort to reach out to local residents, Wheatley added.
“We’re just really trying to focus on the community and the local people there,” she said. “We’re trying to provide a good time and at the same time give back to the community that’s supported us for all these years.”
Bud’s is also reaching out to other local businesses to provide raffle prizes for the event. The proceeds of the raffle will also go to the food bank.
“We want to be part of that community,” said Hyon Kil, a business partner with Bud’s. “We’re looking at being a part of the business community – that’s something that we have not done in the past.”
Raffle prizes will include Seahawks tickets and gift certificates for tattoos, makeovers and more. The dinner, which costs $10, will include a deep fried turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, salad, rolls and pumpkin pie.
“In this economy we’ve got so many things happening, and you want to see something positive,” Kil said. “We’re in the midst of a lot of changes here (at Bud’s) and we want to get involved...People don’t have a lot to give, but with everybody combined we can make a difference.”
Dinner starts at 6 p.m., and patrons can get $3 you-call-its from 6-8 p.m. A DJ will keep the party going from 9 p.m. until close, playing rock and roll, Top 40 and dance hits. Admittance for ladies is free all night long, while men will pay a $5 cover charge after 9 p.m.
