- When did you start playing basketball?
Seriously, when I was 12 but I’ve played since I was 9.
- What do you like about basketball?
It’s nice being in a team sport. You get to work with
other people. I’ve always liked athletics.
- What is your practice schedule like?
I usually come in the morning for an hour or so before
school and just work on shooting mainly and ball
handling. Then I come to practice after school.
- Do you have anyone who inspires you for basketball?
Jon Brockman on the (University of Washington)
Huskies, just the way he’s always working, just the way
he’s always going hard.
- Is there anyone in your life who inspires you?
My parents, they take care of me.
- Have you decided on a college yet?
Not yet.
- What gets you pumped up before a game?
Nothing in particular. I don’t listen to music before the
game or anything, the game’s pretty much enough.
- What is your favorite sports team?
Watching the Huskies (basketball).
- What is the most important thing you have learned
playing sports?
That if you work hard you can go a long way. When I
started out, as a lot of guys on the team will tell you, I
was not good at all. I’ve been able to get pretty
good.
- What have you done in the playoffs?
Mainly it’s just my mentality. Just going strong toward
the basket, go get rebounds; because I have enough size,
I just haven’t always used it. I was just going to try to
use my size a little more and it’s worked out.
- How tall are you?
I’m almost 6’7”.
- What has been your favorite moment so far playing
sports?
Going to state last year. We didn’t do very good in the
regular season so nobody really expected it, but we
came out strong at the end of the year.
- What is your favorite subject?
Probably history – you can learn a lot from history.
- What is your favorite movie?
Sports movie, probably “Remember the Titans.”
Overall, probably any of “The Lord of the Rings.”
