MIDDLETON

What started as a routine traffic stop ended in a foot chase for Fife police officers. On the evening of June 17, officers attempted to pull over a recklessly driven vehicle in the parking lot of the Flying J truck stop, located on 33rd Ave E., in Fife. But the driver fled, causing a short vehicle chase.

The car chase ended when the suspect crashed into a fence on the backside of the truck stop. The suspect then got out of the car, broke through a fence on the east side of the Howard Johnson Motel, and then fled on foot to the nearby Glacier Motel.

Fife and Tacoma police officers chased the subject on foot to a room at the motel. Fife police found two other people in the motel room, who were arrested for narcotics violations.

The suspect who fled was positively identified as Mikose Kenyatta Middleton.

Middleton was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail on numerous misdemeanor and felony charges, including eluding a police vehicle and felony warrant for escape.
