Established on busy Meridian Avenue in South Hill is the building formerly known as Fred & Co., a prominent barbershop that was known in the area for more than 30 years. One year ago, owner Chantel Swick, who now runs the salon aspect of the business, took over the space and wanted to turn it into an all-encompassing salon. “She wanted it to be a one-stop shop – for the spa, manicure/pedicure and hair. We combine our schedules to be accommodating for a full day at the salon,” noted Mindi Zehnder, head of the spa portion of the Studio C.
Together, Swick and Zehnder represent the cutting edge Studio C Salon and Rejuvenation Spa, which they affirm “offers rejuvenation for the mind, body and soul.”
The two women have completely revamped the space to appear calming, peaceful and welcoming. Soothing lights, friendly smiles and comforting décor make the salon a place that customers find peaceful and uplifting.
Studio C Salon and Rejuvenation Spa offers the traditional services clients come to expect at these types of businesses, but also brings a little more to the table.
Color, haircuts, straightening, barber cuts, extensions, manicure and pedicure and updos are all standards for the salon, and body treatments, four different types of facials, full body waxing, micro zone treatment and now male manicure and pedicure services are also available in the spa. One aspect of Swick’s business that she feels makes her shop unique is the fact that clients can contact their stylists any time outside of the edifice. “We give clients our personal cell phone numbers in case there are any issues with their hair at any time of the day.”
On the spa side, Zehnder affirms that Rejuvenation Spa is one-of-a-kind because of the many specific procedures the employees are qualified to do. “We have teamed up with American Lasers, allowing us to provide medical-grade procedures and services under the supervision of a physician.” Additionally, the business houses a licensed skin therapist who can masterfully diagnose a skin condition on individuals of all ages.
For new clients, both the salon and spa have packages that will make pampering doable and guilt-free. All facials are $50, which adds up to a savings of $15-$35 depending upon the chosen type and they offer 20 percent off laser hair removal for legs. For salon newcomers, clients can get half-off color treatments with the purchase of a haircut.
Studio C Salon and Rejuvenation Spa will be celebrating its ribbon cutting ceremony with the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce on June 18 at 5 p.m. The event is open to the public and will include champagne and wine, appetizers, a skin bar, skin treatments, skin analysis, 20 percent off dermatological products and prize giveaways from local businesses including Impressive Signs and Graphics, A&S Auto and Kantor Greenstein Insurance.
